Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, claimed the top position in Forbes’ yearly “World’s Most Powerful Women” list, while Güler Sabancı, Chairwoman of the Board of Sabancı Holding, held the 77th position.

Forbes magazine has just unveiled its list of the “Top 100 Most Powerful Women.” The 2023 rankings, as always, were determined based on four key criteria: Wealth, Media Presence, Impact, and Spheres of Influence.
Gross domestic product and population were pivotal for political leaders, while business leaders’ rankings were influenced by factors like income, wealth, and the size of their workforce. The visibility in the media and social reach of all leaders were also thoroughly analyzed.
Securing the number one spot on the “World’s Most Powerful Women” list of 100 is Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
Following closely, Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, takes the second position, and Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States, claims the third spot.
Breaking into the top 100, Jennifer Salke, President of Amazon Studios, lands at 58th place. Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News, is positioned at 64th, and Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, secures the 67th spot.
The top 10 names on the list feature influential figures from the realms of media and entertainment. Notable personalities such as Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, and Beyoncé prominently represent the powerhouse women in the media and entertainment industry.
Three remarkable women from Africa have made their mark on the list.

The only name from Turkey on the list: Güler Sabancı
